A patient in London was cured from HIV virus. It was a headline in the recent news. Scientists has also been trying to make progress in making better drugs which might help cure HIV. Two experiments were done in Africa which gave mixed results. A lot of African women are scared to use HIV prevention drugs because they fear that their husband might not like it if they get to know it. Many women get to know about their conditions later in the pregnancy. By that time it gets hard to prevent the virus from the baby.

Scientists are making progress on tactics and medicines to fight HIV virus. Many researches that was done in Africa has provided scientists to gain more information and methods to fight AIDs. A lot of positive results were found in the experiments. Yes, scientists are developing new drugs to fights the epidemic for general public to actually get some benefit from it. According to the author “Trica proved just as effective at suppressing the virus, and may have fewer or at least different side effects.” Trivia is a drug that has proved to show good results. This drug also proves the progress that were made in recent years to fight HIV. Scientists are still researching in major parts in Africa and hopes to get better results in the future.

The evidence from the experiments that were done in Africa shows that the drugs are very effective and can help reduce to get affected by the virus. However, it is hard to get the pills because they are highly expensive. Also drugs do not help to prevent the babies to get the virus if the mother do not get the drugs in the beginning of her pregnancy. According to the article “Some babies in each test group died, and a few were born infected anyway. The investigators believed the deaths were from unrelated causes like sepsis or pneumonia, and that the rare H.I.V. infections occurred early in the pregnancies, before either drug regimen could kick in.” This shows that the percentage of preventing the virus to the unborn is very low of the drugs were used. Even though the drugs are not fully effective to reduce HIV however, a lot of new inventions were made throughout the process of experiments which opened many doors for new experiments.
